On 25-26 Jan, 2016, High Peace Council and IWPR (Institute for War and Peace Reporting) organized a two- day workshop on Public Relations and Media for the Provincial Public Relations Officers of the HPC from 15 provinces at conferences hall of Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul.
The workshop started with the recitation of Holy Quran, which was followed by the inaugural speech by Abdul Rahman Hamid, head of Communication and Public Outreach Department of JS/HPC. He welcomed the participants of the workshop and talked about the importance of Public Information and having relations with other related organizations on Provincial basis. He asked the participants to create close relations with religious scholars, civil societies, tribal elders, youth, women, media and influential people and send out their messages through them to the people and oppositions.
Later on, Munir Mehraban, representative of IWPR, provided information on the topics of the workshop to the participants. He said “at the end of this workshop, you will learn more about conducting Interviews, organizing different meetings, photo journalism, and sending effective messages. As well, you can share your experiences with each other.”
In this two day workshop, HPC staff and IWPR trainers delivered professional and technical presentations, the participants had the opportunity for group works and open discussions. The workshop ended with the distribution of promotional materials and certificate to the participants. As well, HPC Member and Senior Deputy chief Executive officer JS/APRP MR Farhadullah Farhad handed over some computers and cameras, to those participants who haven’t received it yet.
It should be mentioned, the first round of this workshop was organized for 18 provincial Public Relations officers on 21-22 Nov, 2015.
